Heather Graham was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joan, a teacher and noted author of children's books, and James Graham, a retired FBI agent. Heather Graham has a younger sister, Aimee, who is also an actress and writer. The family, who are of Irish descent, followed a strict traditional Catholic upbringing; Heather Graham has since estranged herself from the Catholic Church Graham has practiced Hinduism and associated transcendental meditation since 1991. Graham and co-star Johnny Depp were in Los Angeles to premiere their movie From Hell, while the New York premiere of Drew Barrymore's new movie Riding In Cars With Boys was cancelled. And although some people feel it's inappropriate to spend their time watching movies, Graham believes it's actually a great break from the news. She says, "It's too depressing to sit at home watching the news all day. It's good to go and see movies, be happy, and not to just think about it all of the time."
